Continuing education in sustainable construction

Session 2018-2019

Sustainable construction. From eco-design to eco-renovation of buildings

Jobs@Skills, the Collective Higher Education Structure of the provinces of Liege and Luxembourg, and its partners are offering a new training course for construction professionals who wish to integrate a high-performance and efficient approach to sustainable construction into their profession.

Objectives of the training

The training has 3 main objectives:

  • To make you acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to implement an eco-design approach articulated throughout the construction process and apply them using tools.
  • To train you in the latest developments in the field of building energy performance: standards, technologies..
  • Familiarize yourself with BIM (Building Information Modeling), a process and collaborative work methods that improve the reliability and quality of information transmitted throughout the life cycle of the building.

Target audience

The training is intended for architects, professionals from design offices, contractors, site managers ... who wish to integrate into their profession an efficient and effective approach to sustainable construction.

The training is accessible to holders of at least a bachelor's degree in a field related to construction or to holders of a lower level diploma with proof of 10 years experience in construction (acceptance on file).

Structure and cost of the training

The training is organized in 9 modules, each dealing with a phase of the life of a building in a sustainable construction process. The common thread of the training is a BIM model and the use that can be made of such a tool in a sustainable construction process.

Module 1 : Introduction / BIM Process (21 hours - 2 ECTS) 315 €

Module 2 : Environmental impact of building elements (28 hours - 2 ECTS) € 420

Module 3 : Building Design (70 hours - 5 ECTS) 1050 €

Module 4: Building design assisted by digital simulation: energy optimization of buildings (28 hours - 2 ECTS) € 420

Module 5 : Manufacturing / Construction (35 hours - 3 ECTS) 525 €
