What is a doctorate ?

The doctorate is obtained at the end of a research training, the writing of a personal and original research work and the thesis defence. The doctorate is a professional career path of about 4 years giving access to positions of responsibility in the public or private sector or to a career in higher education or research.

Access and registration

The PhD is accessible to students with a 120-credit master's degree or a similar academic degree awarded by a higher education institution in or outside the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, after the decision of the academic authorities.
