The Campus carries out a wide range of environmental studies in a variety of fields.

Arlon AEC

Wastewater treatment, odor management, landfill management, drinking water resource management, aquifer protection, soil characterization and decontamination studies, etc.

 

EQUIPMENT

It has a range of equipment enabling it to carry out the missions entrusted to it, for sampling and analysis of :

  • water (automatic samplers, pumps, etc.),
  • soil (augers, probes, etc.),
  • odors (flow chamber, olfactometer, etc.),
  • air (physico-chemical lab - TD-GC-MS, HPLC, adsorption cartridges, pumps, polymer bags, weather station, etc.).

It is also equipped with drones and several software packages for modeling purposes (GIS, aquifer and atmospheric dispersion modeling).

 

SOME STUDIES CARRIED OUT

  • Studies to reinforce municipal drinking water distribution networks for AIVE and SPGE (Libramont, Manhay...), including geophysical surveys and monitoring of drilling sites.
  • Olfactometric study of emissions from the AGRICOMPOST S.A. composting center in Jeneffe
  • Preparation of area plan modification files for quarry and sandpit extension projects.
  • Dossier for the establishment of catchment protection zones and water intakes (AIVE, SPGE, SPW, Communes).
  • Preparation of technical files for environmental permits or single permits.
  • Support for local authorities in the preparation of dossiers subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment (Etude d'Incidences sur l'Environnement)
