When they arrive in Arlon, some international students, PhD students or researchers want to learn French or improve their English. Several options are available.
Evening courses
French andEnglish courses at various levels are offered by the Ecole Industrielle et Commerciale de la Ville d'Arlon, as part of the Enseignement de Promotion Sociale. Classes are held in the evening, once or twice a week, depending on language and level.
If you have a basic knowledge of English and would like to improve your level, you can take part in conversation tables organized by the Jean-Baptiste Nothomb Foundation. The foundation does not offer French conversation tables.

Wallangues is an initiative of the Walloon region of Belgium, offering free training in French, English, Dutch and German. The exercises on offer enable you to learn to read, write and listen in your chosen language.
For all members of the Université de Liège, ISLV offers onlineEnglish courses for a very reasonable fee. A placement test is organized to guide you to the level that suits you best.
